Job Responsibilities
  • Must be Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food preparation, hygiene, and safety, food handling procedures, and following written instructions
  • Must be able to read and understand in English and Bengali
  • Set up station according to restaurant guidelines
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant
  • Restock all items as needed throughout the shift
  • Clean and maintain station while practicing exceptional safety, sanitation and organizational skills
  • Has understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by the Head Chef, Sous Chef or Floor Manager at any time
  • To appropriately delegate and assist in all tasks delegated within the section
  • To accurately carry out instructions received by line manager during service
  • To accurately and calmly give instructions to junior staff during service and assist if necessary in the completion of the instructions
  • Ability to take direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated and organized
  • Should be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 30 kgs

Educational Requirements
  • Diploma in hotel/restaurant management is desirable
  • A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative

Assistant Manager, Restaurant
Bistro E is seeking a skilled Assistant Manager – Restaurant who is proficient in all aspects of restaurant operations including food and beverage menu planning and preparation, purchasing, personnel management, record-keeping, and marketing. Responsibilities include ensuring high-quality service, developing employees, tracking inventory, controlling costs, and promoting positive guest experiences.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high-quality food & beverage service.
  • Must have good working knowledge of own area, market trends, and industry changes.
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback, establishing performance expectations, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Track stock levels of food, supplies, and equipment, forecast needs, and oversee ordering as necessary.
  • Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas.
  • Respond to complaints, taking any appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures by restaurant policies and procedures.
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
  • Control operational costs and identify ways to cut waste.
  • Communicate all aspects of weekly operations by leading weekly team management meetings.
  • Assist in developing, planning, and executing restaurant marketing, advertising, and promotional activities and campaigns with the Branding and Communications team.
